Job Title: RN Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating (Days, Evenings, Nights) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP, EFM (every 2 years), ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulate, Newborn Care Description: This position is for a Labor & Delivery and Postpartum RN with rotating shifts. The unit includes a 25-bed Labor & Delivery area with facilities for labor, postpartum, and newborn care. The unit contains two operating rooms, two recovery rooms, and two antepartum rooms. The clinician-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3 for evaluations, and 1:1 for active labor, magnesium gtt, or epidural. For postpartum, the ratio is 1:3-4. The average daily census for this unit is between 15-25 mothers, babies, and laboring patients. The charting system used is EPIC. No floating is required for this position. The role requires primarily day rotations but may include evenings and nights as needed.
