Union Name:CH Laborers 380 -DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:The Psychiatry Access Service provides both Transitional Care and has a Partial Hospital Program. The mission of the service is to provide a holding treatment environment for patients transitioning from Inpatient Level of care, or Psychiatric Emergency Room.Summary:

  • Peer Support Specialist for RISE will provide FEP program members the active peer supports that are known to play a crucial role in recovery from mental illness.
  • These supports will be in the service of promoting greater independence, consistent engagement in treatment, community integration, and pursuit of each individual's life goals.
  • These peer-to-peer interactions will take place alongside clinical treatment on days when RISE groups are held (currently Tuesdays), as well as virtually or in the community on other days.
  • Non-clinic based supports may consist of conversing with program members (either by phone or in person), accompanying them to important events related to school or work, or facilitating RISE group activities (e.g. outdoor activities/games at nearby parks, group social outings).MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Certified Peer Specialist as determined by the Department of Mental Health.
    • Experience: Must be a self-identified person currently or formerly receiving mental health services; or a self-identified person in recovery from mental illness; or a family member of an individual who is a current or former recipient of mental health services.
