Job Summary This position will provide laboratory support services as part of a team supporting a Biophysics department within a major pharmaceutical account. Responsibilities include buffer and reagent preparation, aliquoting, compound management, sample management and delivery. This position is full-time on site. In this role, you will report to the Supervisor, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel - and our customers - to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science preferred. Experience: 3+ years of lab environment work experience or college degree in Biology, Chemistry or related science required. Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills required. Creation of Power Point Presentations may be required. Qualifications:

• A detailed understanding and ability to operate in an aseptic environment.
• Generalized understanding of health and safety hazards in the presence of hazardous and biohazardous materials.
• Background and experience in using pipettes (single and multi-channel), pH meters, conductivity meters, densitometers, and spectrophotometers.
• An understanding of general laboratory techniques including the following: Molar mass, density, weighing and dispensing, filtration, titrations.
• Experience using Mosaic Software, Thermocyclers, Biocore SPR instruments, and ECHO acoustic dispensers a plus.
• Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills.
• High level of customer service skills with the ability to always display a professional can-do demeanor.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet goals.
• Must be flexible, forward- thinking, motivated, and have the confidence to solve problems independently.
• Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, safety issues, security clearances and medical checkups.

As a Lab Support Specialist you will:
    • Support Biophysics Department with media, reagent, and buffer requests as needed
    • Follow sterile handling techniques
    • Follow SOP's and Guidelines established for operational excellence
    • Write and modify basic SOP's with guidance from leadership, as needed
    • Record data in electronic lab notebook
    • Analyze data using Excel
    • Provide support and coverage to Sample Management Team as needed processing samples, including the receipt, handling, aliquoting and delivery preparation
    • Prepare required documentation
    • Manage consumables inventory needed to process samples.
    • Maintain organization/lab cleanliness of work areas.
    • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Assists with the calibration, trouble shooting, and validation of lab equipment.
    • Maintains laboratorynotebook,testing records, or worksheetsaccordingto established laboratory and manufacturing procedures.
