Union: No Union Name: Non UnionDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:7 West is an
adult Psychiatric locked unit. There are 9 beds available on this
inpatient unit of which we see various types of psychiatric
illnesses such as Schizophrenia bi-polar and affective disorders,
Personality disorders, Dual diagnosis, Adjustment disorder,
Psychosis, and use DBT/CBT Group Therapy. According to DMH we have
a lower than average restraint rate, use sensory approach to
de-escalating patients, and all staff are educated in trauma
informed care which provides each patient with individualized care.
To provide clinical operations, service planning, business
performance, and performance improvement to the
Department.Responsibilities:Clinical Operations: Accounts for
clinical operations within the unit, including: Direct supervision
of all unit clinical and support staff, including accountability
for employee competencies, evaluations, and annual reviews.
Provides leadership to staff to facilitate the resolution of
conflicts. Development, implementation and monitoring of systems
for acquisitions and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Development, implementation and revision of unit clinical
standards, policies, and procedures. Collaborates within the
service line, and across service lines and departments to ensure
effective clinical operations. Hiring: Collaborates with other
members of the leadership team to recruit and hire quality
candidates.Service Planning: Develops programming/services which
are consistent with CHA mission and vision, including: Assessment
of client/patient community health needs and development of
programming to meet these needs. Assessment of staff and
client/patient educational needs and development of programming to
meet these needs. On-going staff supervision and development of
nursing and interdisciplinary staff. Facilitates interdisciplinary
care of patients. Business Performance: Develops unit budget and
monitors cost/unit measures and other business performance
measures. Develops innovations to increase efficiencies while
maintaining or improving quality. Develops unit staff
accountability for business performance. Collaborates within
service line and across service lines and departments to
continually improve effectiveness and efficiency of
systems.Performance Improvement: Develops and monitors performance
improvement measures, including but not limited to measures of
clinical/service outcomes, cost/volume measures and customer
satisfaction. Collaborates with other providers to develop and
monitor service line performance measures.Leadership: Leading
change: demonstrates familiarity with the psychology of change and
is able to apply that body of knowledge to lead change within the
unit and the service line. Communication: effectively communicates
and collaborates with diverse individuals, disciplines and
departments throughout the organization and the community we serve.

union leadership with its members. Staff development and
evaluation: Works effectively with and provides feedback to staff
to maximize development. Counsels staff and uses progressive
disciplinary actions when necessary. Provides clinical leadership
to nursing and interdisciplinary staff. Performs other related
duties as assigned or directed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Other
information: Education/Training: Graduate of NLN Accredited School
of NursingBachelor of Science in Nursing requiredMaster's Degree
preferred Licensure:Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License
Certifications: Maintains current Basic Life Support C
certification Work Experience:Five years' clinical experience in
department area.Demonstrated leadership and management abilitiesIn
