Job Description:
This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of
Moderna's LATAM Medical Affairs team. The Medical Advisor, LATAM
will be accountable for delivering the Moderna Medical Affairs
strategy related to Moderna's licensed vaccines and candidate
vaccines still in development. Initially, the role will be focused
on supporting the continued roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine as
well as helping to plan for and execute the LATAM Medical Affairs
strategy for the Moderna Infectious Disease franchise. To fulfil
these objectives, the person in this role will partner and work
closely with numerous external and internal stakeholder including
HealthCare Professionals (HCPs), medical and scientific
organisations and government departments as well as across the
Moderna LATAM organisation, regional and global colleagues within
Medical Affairs, Research and Development, Commercial and other
teams.S/He will contribute to developing the excellence and
scientific leadership of Moderna's Medical Affairs organisation.
S/he will be responsible for proactive and continuous assessment of
the dynamics of the external and internal environment and implement
strategic plans to establish and evolve local Medical Affairs teams
and ways of working based on this assessment.Here's What You'll
Do:Execution and delivery of regional Medical Affairs plans that
meet business priorities for Infectious Disease (or each of the
therapeutic areas), including tactical deliverables such as
scientific exchange, support for clinical trials and real world
evidence (when requested), post-licensure research, publication
plans, investigator-sponsored studies, and other knowledge transfer
activitiesBuild and maintain a network of key scientific leaders in
areas of relevance to the current and anticipated needs.Develop
and/or foster relationships with external stakeholders to ensure
that robust local insights from healthcare practitioners and
patients, enabling the generation of data that are needed to
properly understand and value our innovative medicines and
vaccinesSupport the delivery of effective medical education
campaigns, scientific advisory boards, KOL engagements, webinars,
and presentations to develop an effective scientific engagement
strategy for LATAM.Participate in outcomes research/health
economics engagements with national payers, Health Technology
Assessment or regulatory agencies, in coordination with Real-World
Evidence, Market Access and Commercial colleaguesCompliant
management of compassionate use requests, pre-licensure patient
access programs, patient access/support programs and similar
activitiesHere's What You'll Bring to the Table:Master's degree,
PhD or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline. Additional
advanced degrees (eg. MD) are a strong plus.Demonstrated experience
in global pharmaceutical industry in Clinical Development and/or
Medical Affairs with a proven successful track recordExperience in
vaccines is strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to have
peer-to-peer discussions with disease-state experts to assess
evolving standards of care for patients as well as research
opportunities.Strong understanding of the LATAM compliance
environment in which Medical Affairs functionsDemonstrated
effective project management and organisational skills, including
ability to set goals and align prioritiesExcellent written and oral
communication skills.Strong willingness to collaborate with other
functions, leveraging his/her network to pressure test own
hypotheses and solutions.Track record of navigating ambiguity by
intuitively making connections and staying open to learning,
