The Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs Lead (GMAL) - Duchenne, builds alignment on key initiatives including optimal approach to data generation, communication and supporting Sarepta's therapies with a focus on Gene Therapy for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The GMAL represents Medical Affairs on key cross functional teams, which may include Global Program Team (GPT), Global Brand Team (GBT) and their respective sub-teams where appropriate and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the scientific and clinical understanding of gene therapies. This role is accountable for key contributions to Global Medical Affairs strategic and tactical planning and serves as a key driver towards execution of these plans. -Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute to the development, execution and alignment of the Gene therapy Medical Affairs strategy in line with overall Corporate and Medical priorities
  • Serve as a medical subject matter expert on DMD & Gene therapies, often representing GMA on cross-functional governance teams
  • Incorporate patients' voice & external stakeholders' information needs in the development of medical strategies & tactics
  • Identify data gaps and drive data generation initiatives
  • Actively support the Organization to disseminate the scientific and medical impact of our products with key stakeholders (physicians, patients, payers and regulators).
  • Co-develop and review abstracts and manuscripts
  • Build Program, Product and Disease State competency and profile within Sarepta
  • Contribute to congress, symposia, advisory board and expert committee strategy development and creation of content
  • Work effectively and in close collaboration with cross-functional partners to plan and execute tactics
  • Acts as role model of integrity and compliance
  • Perform other related duties as neededDesired Education and Skills: -
    • Doctorate degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required with a focus on neurology, or related discipline
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in gene therapy, rare neuromuscular disorders or related field
    • Analytical, with a track record of delivering against goals while working in high performing diverse teams
    • Demonstrated success in operating effectively in highly matrixed organizations where influencing skills are critical to day to day success
    • Experience in building strong and effective relationships with thought leaders, healthcare professionals, including laboratory professionals
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deal effectively with deadlines
    • Customer-oriented approach and ability to work in cross-functional team
    • Proven strategic thinking skills and ability to interpret and implement strategic directions
    • Articulate with excellent communication and influencing skills
