Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Fluid Biomarker group, within
the Biomarker Department and part of Clinical Sciences is seeking a
highly independent and motivated scientist to join a dynamic team
engaged in the discovery and progression of novel biomarkers from
research to implementation in preclinical studies and/or clinical
trials.Responsibilities include identification, evaluation,
characterization, and development of relevant fluid biomarkers in
support of programs across Biogen's Multiple sclerosis (MS)
portfolio, possibly also supporting the emerging immunology
pipeline.What You'll Do
- Design and effectively communicate program stage appropriate
biomarker strategies to the team and lead execution.
- Per the need(s) of the program, identify, strategically
develop, and deploy impactful target engagement, disease activity
and/or pharmacodynamic biomarkers to enable program progression and
assist in go/no-go decisions.
- Effectively use Immuno-based platforms (ELISAs, ELLA, SIMOA,
MSD U-plex/S-plex) and/or FACS to develop and qualify
fit-for-purpose biomarker assays in house or provide scientific
oversight at appropriate CROs.
- Oversee accurate representation and interpretation of biomarker
data in all relevant documents/internal or external publications
(clinical study protocols, clinical study reports, posters,
manuscripts)
- Build partnerships with colleagues in research, biostats,
medical, clinical pharmacology, safety for effective integration of
biomarker strategies in the program's development plan.
- Establish and manage partnerships with both internal research
colleagues as well as external research collaborations to support
identification of novel biomarkers.Who You AreYou will be capable

skills.QualificationsQualifications
- PhDs with 0-2 years of relevant experience; Masters with 4-6
years of relevant experience; or Bachelor candidates with 6-8 years
of relevant experience
- Experience in the development and qualification of biomarker
assays in the preclinical and clinical setting with an emphasis on
fit-for-purpose qualification for the specific context in which
biomarker data is intended to be used and /or will be
impactful.
- Proven experience with high-sensitivity immunoassay platforms
and FACS, including novel assay development, troubleshooting and
implementation along with either experience in or willingness to
learn additional technologies.
- Direct expertise and knowledge of Multiple sclerosis,
Immunology and/or neurodegenerative diseases preferred.
- Ability to quickly absorb new information and develop an
understanding of the relevant biology, pathway, mechanism of action
and multiple sclerosis disease indication in general.
- Be a highly flexible, results oriented, independent
self-starter with effective communication skills and leadership
presence who enjoys working in a fast-paced dynamic environment and
