Job Description:
In your role as a member of the Research Team, you will
contribute to the advancement of our platform and discovery
programs. Using your expertise in vector biology and molecular
biology, you will work with a team of junior scientists and lead
from the bench to expand our AAV platform and pipeline
projects.

love to speak with you! THE POSITION: Sr. Scientist, Gene Therapy
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and works with a team of talented scientists to
coordinate viral vector production and vector engineering efforts
for our gene therapy platform, providing scientific and technical
direction
- Works with junior scientists to evaluate and implement
innovative approaches to optimize viral vectors capsids,
transgenes, and promoters to support our gene therapy pipeline
programs
- Oversees and contributes to capsid engineering efforts,
including DNA library generation, to identify next-generation
capsids with tailored properties and tropism
- Assists in experimental design and troubleshooting
- Develops and manages relationship with external collaborators
and Contract Research Organizations
- Presents data at external scientific presentations,
conferences, and internal meetings
- Oversees the update and maintenance of accurate, comprehensive
laboratory notebooks (eLN)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Gene Therapy or
related field with 5+ years post graduate experience in the
biotech/pharmaceutical industry is preferred
- Hands-on experience with AAV production and purification,
transgene construct design, molecular cloning, and testing vector
transduction in vitro is highly desired
- Demonstrated expertise in AAV vector biology, cell and
molecular biology, virology and gene therapy
- Strong critical, scientific, and strategic thinking skills
allowing individual to work independently with minimal supervision
is required
- Prior experience with AAV capsids design is highly desired
- Experience with NGS would be preferred
- A strong self-starter, independent thinker, with a strong
attention to detail
- Experience managing and mentoring direct reports including PhD
level scientists
- Ability to work collaboratively across a dynamic and
collaborative scientific environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and
