We are seeking a highly motivated leader with substantial experience in gene therapy drug development experience to join Takeda to advance our gene therapy research effort. Be empowered and join us as Gene Therapy Analytics and Bioassays Lead in the Global Gene Therapy Research Team. Objective: As an Analytics and Bioassay Lead in the Global Gene Therapy (GGT) Research Team, you will be empowered with driving Gene Therapy (GT) assay development to characterize viral and non-viral vectors. The candidate is expected to have strong hands-on technical experience of GT cell-based assays as well as characterization assays for viral and non-viral vectors. Accountabilities Coordinate with the Head of Analytics and Bioassay in GGT team to prioritize assay development and sample testing priorities. Partner with GGT co-leads in order to coordinate testing of in-process and study related materials. Performs characterization assays such as ELISA, Gyros, and other immunoassays. Performs cell-based assays as well as maintaining various types of mammalian cells in an asceptic manner. Independently design, conduct, analyze and present experimental data with minimal guidance from management. Develops analytical assays according to ICH guidelines and analyzes in-process/stability samples within timelines. Serves as the Analytics and Bioassay group lead on team projects. Follow compliance of documentation in electronic lab notebook and author scientific reports that supports internal documentation and regulatory submissions. Positive attitude with a strong focus on hands on lab work and attention to detail to generate reproducible results. Maintains familiarity with current analytical and bioassay methods used for characterizing viral and non-viral gene therapy vectors. Ability to maintain multiple projects and timelines. Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise Demonstrates broad technical program knowledge Acts as the recognized scientific resource on an aspect of a program Leadership Identifies, plans and executes novel scientific projects and may manage the work of others a direct or matrixed structure Decision-making and Autonomy Independently manages workload and expectations Scientifically independent May influence decision making within the department Interaction Conducts scientific presentations to internal audiences Receives high level instructions on all work, determines methods on new assignments, works closely with manager, may manage junior staff EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:-- PhD degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Chemistry or a related field with 2+ years experience , or MS with 8+ years experience, or BS with 10+ years experience Expertise in gene therapy cell based analytical assay development for viral or non-viral gene therapy vectors. Prior experience developing an analytical assay using ELISA, MSD, or Gyros is a must. Familiar with PCR based assay, such as qPCR, RT-PCR and ddPCR is a plus. Familiar with ICH guidelines for the development of bioassays. Ability to adapt to new and fast paced environment and navigate uncertainties. Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
