Job Description:

Develops software applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) services -- EC2, Lambda, S3, and ElasticSearch. Develops software components that are used by portfolio managers, traders, and analysts in managing high yield funds. Practices test automation at various levels of testing (unit, component, integration, and functional). Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience leading and building Cloud-native and data applications according to event-driven micro-service architecture.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience leading and building Cloud-native and data applications according to event-driven micro-service architecture.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) working on a full-stack engineering team -- designing and developing dynamic responsive Single Page Web Applications (SPA), using Angular 8+, Bootstrap, and NodeJS; building RESTful Web Services and APIs, using Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Python 3.7+; building scalable messaging applications using Kafka; and building Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes, using Jenkins, Concourse, UDeploy, Artifactory, and Bitbucket.

DE performing database development -- designing packages, triggers, and tables -- using Oracle and DynamoDB; performing Oracle query tuning, and troubleshooting real-time of complex stored procedures; performing database virtualization using Delphix; and performing unit test using utPLSQL.

DE building, deploying, and running secure Cloud-native applications using AWS core services -- EC2, S3, Lambda, and API gateway; building, deploying, and running Cloud container platforms using EKS; performing infrastructure automation, using DevOps scripting (Shell, Python, and PowerShell); performing configuration management using Cloud Formation; and building log aggregating dashboards, using AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, and Datadog.

DE performing Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) using testing frameworks -- Spock, Cucumber, and Gherkin; performing unit and integration testing, using Karma, Protractor, and Junit 5; automating regression testing, using Newman Postman, Karate, and Fitness test; performing application load testing using JMeter; and performing CI/CD integration with code quality tools using Sonar, Veracode, Checkstyle, and ESLint.
