The purpose of the role is the strategic and tactical planning of
training, designed to maximize the effectiveness of customer
engagement by the field teams, working in partnership with key
internal stakeholders.
Head of Field force Training & Development is responsible for the
design, development, and implementation of learning programs for
Alnylam International. This includes updating, maintaining, and
delivering new hire training for the office and field force team,
as well as addressing the ongoing learning and development needs of
the entire field force, main focus on Key Account Managers
The role reports to Head of Business Operations, International
Summary of Key Responsibilities
* To develop, coordinate and run induction training programs for
all field force, e learning and F2F programs including regular
certifications
* Work with Brand Teams in the identification and development of
key training outcomes that support Brand Plan execution pre and
post launch
* Responsible for development and implementation of
competency-based skills
* Act as a point of contact with the Global Training team to ensure
alignment of in field working practices and ways of working
* Provides strong technical expertise and program leadership
required for the development and implementation of global training
and educational projects
* Manage deliverables according to endorsed plans and timelines
across multi-functional teams.
* Development of metrics and performance measures, reporting and
analysis to meet business needs
* Ensure compliance to training and education regulatory
requirements and consistent implementation of best practices,
standards to support inspection readiness
* Responsible for delivery of new hire orientation scientific
program for the International region
* Collaborates with Country Managers, Brand, Regulatory, and other
stakeholders to design and deploy targeted programs that reduce
knowledge gaps and enhance field effectiveness
* Serves as the conduit between Marketing, Commercial and Medical
Affairs by translating and communicating brand and disease
strategies to office and field force personnel through multiple
training mediums.
He/she will leverage emerging technology to increase effectiveness
of delivery, maximize resources and adapt content delivery for
maximum impact. The individual will seek actionable feedback during
and following training sessions to improve individuals' proficiency
levels. This role will follow up to ensure field force
understanding and consistent delivery of accurate product messaging
and clinical information to customers. The Director will identify
and communicate learning and development opportunities to initiate
new Learning, Training & Development efforts. He/she will seek
resources to address field needs by leveraging existing programs or
devising new programs. He/she should know best practices in
knowledge testing and content retention; both to comply with local
standards but also to ensure that key messages are consistent and
retained.
The Director will remain current in advancements on various topics
to provide the most effective delivery of materials, including but
not limited to, product knowledge, marketplace conditions and
competitive landscapes
This person will maintain superior clinical fluency in all assigned
disease states to equip learners to engage stakeholders in
meaningful, results-driven conversations. He/she will engage in
ongoing development of clinical and market knowledge to maintain
content expert status. This role will demonstrate a comprehensive
knowledge of clinical and therapeutic practices; how to leverage
understanding within compliance guidelines; and demonstrate how to
adjust use of aids to align to customer-specific requirements. This
individual will ensure the field force are continually educated and
advised on the safe use of products through targeted and effective
train-the-trainer efforts.
Qualifications
* Bachelors' or Master's Degree in science is preferable
* A proven career in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry including
significant experience in training
* Rare disease experience is essential
* Fluent in English, second language preferred
* Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills
* Proven ability to synthesize disparate sources of material into
coherent Learning deliverables
* Ability to influence at different levels in the organisation
* Presentation and facilitating skills so can manage sales cycle
meetings
* Project management experience including:
o Directing the project process by writing statements of work
and/or estimating hours
o Keeping project costs within budget
o Managing external project teams (graphic designers, medical
writers, eLearning developers, etc.)
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Knowledge of e-Learning methodology and software, Instructional
design theories, models, application and designing tools are
essencial
* Creative aptitude and experience contributing to the creative
process
* Ability to work in a matrix environment
