Overview
The Senior Director, Value Demonstration is a critical Global Medical Affairs role bridging key stakeholders to develop a cross functionally aligned outcomes research strategy across multiple late stage and pipeline assets. The Senior Director, Value Demonstration will work closely with the Value Evidence and Strategy (VEST) HEOR team to define, identify, and prioritize evidence gaps, and ensure alignment with internal (e.g., market access, strategic account) and external (e.g., patients, health care providers, regulators, payers) stakeholder needs; they will work with colleagues in Data Sciences and Statistics, and the Global Medical Directors to develop evidence generation plans to address identified gaps. The Senior Director, Value Demonstration will liaise between Global/Regional Market Access and Global/Regional Medical Directors to ensure that planned tactics meet regional access requirements and are aligned with strategic imperatives. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the use of outcomes research at different stages of product development and commercialization. The Senior Director, Value Demonstration will have demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams.

This position is hybrid onsite and will be primarily located at 675 West Kendall Street, Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities
* Partner in the development, execution, and communication of the global RWE strategy supporting clinical development and post-authorization evidence requirements to support reimbursement and to demonstrate value of Alnylam products
* Collaborate cross functionally (HEOR, Market Access, Medical Directors, Epidemiology) to ensure the RWE strategy optimally addresses current and future needs, define and prioritize evidence gaps and research questions, and identify data sources, study design, and analytical approaches that are rigorous and fit-for-purpose
* With VESt HEOR, partner with countries to understand their evidence needs and coordinate input from local country/regional teams on global evidence generation, support their evidence needs, and ensure evidence is appropriately incorporated into key HTA deliverables
* Support development of launch and post launch deliverables including global value dossiers, access evidence plans, value and evidence strategies, value decks and innovative tools
* In partnership with DSS, support development of RWE narratives, communicate and educate internal and external stakeholders on how to utilize RWE/RWD, and partner in the development of customer facing materials
* Drive and support adoption of novel methodologies, tools, and data sources, to facilitate innovative, fit for purpose evidence generation across the portfolio
* Co-chair the Real World Research team and drive adoption of best practices (e.g. PCORI Methodology Standards, FDA RWE guidance) to ensure conduct of high quality observational research across the organization
* Participate in Publication Working Groups to ensure publications maximize value demonstration
* Participate in Registry Working Groups to ensure data collection and publication planning meet regional evidence needs
* Oversee resources, project plan, budgets, and vendors as needed
* Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding relevant developments in multiple disease areas and have an in depth understanding of country-specific evidence needs


Qualifications
* Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, ScD, MS) in Health Economics or Outcomes Research from an accredited institution, with a minimum of ten years of relevant, post-graduation experience in biotech
* A robust portfolio of scientific publications demonstrating expertise in observational study design, analysis, and interpretation and direct experience with different applications of RWE
* Excellent communication skills to influence internal and external audiences and ensure shared purpose, alignment, and clear accountability for decisions
* A strong track record of use of RWE to support successful commercialization
* Ability to function with a high level of autonomy and develop productive cross-functional collaborations
* Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize activities and manage resources in a fast paced environment
* Ability to work, collaborate, negotiate and lead in a matrixed environment
* Experience working across multiple therapeutic areas, rare, and prevalent diseases
