About the Job
The Associate Director, Product Management is responsible for
developing the global strategic marketing plan and customer
requirements for one of FMI's pipeline or portfolio products. This
position is responsible for the commercial success of a specific
product within the broader context of FMI's comprehensive portfolio
of products and services.--
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead execution of the global marketing strategy
through all phases of product development. Incorporate
reimbursement strategy into commercial strategy and partner closely
with Medical to ensure commercial strategies effectively address
unmet medical needs.
- Work collaboratively across the product management organization
to develop integrated portfolio strategies for enterprise success
over the short (90-day), medium (1-3years) and long-term (3-5years)
time horizons.
- Collaborate effectively across enterprise functions, including
R&D, Technology, Operations, Program Management, Medical and
Biopharma to ensure strategies are feasible and can be executed in
line with the customer requirements.--
- Partner closely with Strategic Insights and Analytics as well
as Commercial Operations to develop and maintain a deep
understanding of the market, competition, customer needs and
technology capabilities. Complement these sources by spending time
in the field with customers. Represent this "voice of customer"
expertise across the organization and embed this perspective into
all strategic activities.
- Develop business case assessments for new product development
opportunities, including key features. Collaborate with SI&A,
Commercial Operations and Finance team to develop robust and
consistent analyses.--
- Represent FMI with key customers through field rides, Advisory
Boards, Congresses, customer dinners, etc.--
- Partner closely with Downstream Marketing team to implement
go-to-market strategies and tactical plans. Remain responsible for
translating competitive intelligence into meaningful insights and
actions for FMI's commercial team.--
- Collaborate effectively across the Roche Group with GPS, Pharma
International, Diagnostics, Flatiron, etc. to maximize global
success of FMI's product portfolio.--
- Partner with marketing promotions, sales operations, and 3rd
party partners to develop positioning, value propositions and
targeting for the portfolio.
- Create relationships and strategic partnerships with key
opinion leaders and other stakeholders to execute critical product
& business initiatives.
- Regularly connect with stakeholders to drive education, market
adoption and innovation of Foundation Medicine products.
- Develop global relationships and builds credibility with key
internal cross-functional stakeholders from both Foundation
Medicine and Roche.
- Other projects as periodically assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of experience in diagnostics or pharmaceuticals
product marketing or product management
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's of Business Administration or other advanced
degree
- 7+ years of work experience in product marketing, preferably
within medical device or diagnostics, of which 3 years are in
Oncology
- Oncology experience, within medical device or
diagnostics
- International marketing or sales experience
- Direct product launch experience including regulatory, access,
marketing and sales
- Experience:
- in healthcare with an emphasis on diagnostics, genomics, and/or
biotechnology
- gathering industry trends, generating deep customer insights
and competitive intelligence to target the in-house laboratory
testing market segment
- building financial models representing complex market
situations to facilitate data-driven decision making
- creating impactful strategic marketing plans and developing
value propositions, positioning and targeting
- building relationships with key customers, cross-functional
partners, and external business partners
- in next-generation sequencing technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient
data
