Our Team
This role reports into the Global Medical Immunology team that is part of the Medical Affairs Specialty Care organization.
Our Medical function serves as a key strategic partner with commercial, regulatory, clinical, and market access on therapeutic solutions to support patients' needs.
Within the Global Medical Affairs Immunology team, we are proud to support Sanofi's unrelenting commitment to scientific exploration and to work on a first-in-class treatment and robust pipeline of potential new medicines for chronic dermatologic, respiratory, and gastrointestinal diseases.
Main responsibilities

  • The Early Pipeline Rheumatology Medical Director, Global Medical Immunology reports to the Global Medical Head, Immunology and contributes to the Medical strategy and plans for a broad portfolio of pipeline assets in development across a range of rheumatological diseases.

  • This role will work in close collaboration with other cross functional leaders to develop and execute new therapy medical/scientific assessments, comprehensive lifecycle management, stakeholder engagement, data generation, and communication plans, competitive intelligence activities and ensuring excellence in medical launch readiness.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Interface with key internal and external stakeholders across multiple teams to help foster the development and understanding of the evolving treatment landscapes of Immunology pipeline assets in development and ensure comprehensive thorough scientific and clinical evaluation of new therapies in immunology

    • Participate in the Immunology Pipeline integrated evidence generation strategy definition, planning and execution worldwide and lead data generation efforts by bridging global ambitions with local affiliates based on in-depth understanding

    • Develop a cohesive rheumatological medical education strategy across the pipeline in collaboration with cross-functional partners

    • Implement a strong partnership with local cross functional team, global & regional medical for appropriate communications strategy, KOL development and best practice sharing

    • Support competitive intelligence activities/analyses and development / training of local Medical teams

    • Represent medical teams at advisory boards, outreach meetings at key institutions, and in interactions with KOLs

    • Support execution of key medical activities across dermatology pipeline assets


      • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (M.D., PhD or PharmD)


        • Significant immunology experience highly preferred

        • Experience in pipeline, clinical development and/or medical affairs on a global or regional level (commercial experience a plus)

        • Experience in both clinical research and patient care

        • 5+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry or equivalent Immunology related experience

        • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment

        • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams (i.e., medical, global brand teams, market research, sales, managed markets, sales operations, business development, regulatory, research & development) as well as with regional and/or affiliate medical teams
