THE JOB
You are a dynamic leader, looking to drive, define and realize Data and AI architecture on global enterprise level in support of the digital transformation with a focus on Research and Development (R&D) and Real-World Evidence (RWE). You ensure that vision meets execution, apply pragmatism to solutions and approaches, provide hands-on leadership, mentor and enhance capabilities of a team of data and solution architects. You are in charge of adopting the enterprise (technology) standards for Data and AI platforms, representing Data and AI in R&D and RWE , exploring and/or recommending new or emerging technologies that enhance Data and AI capabilities, designing and developing solutions that will both support Data and AI products as well as address clients enterprise needs. You are well versed in bioinformatics and clinical data, are familiar with regulatory dependencies and the implications on architecture solutions. Your role includes setting architecture standards within your team, ensuring you're resourced to execute on the data team operating model and associated project portfolio and supporting delivery of quality work.
You will work closely with multiple transversal teams in Data (across foundational data platforms, business-facing AI products, and data portfolio management), Digital (infrastructure, cloud, security, Agile) and key business stakeholders. You will have direct people management responsibilities and accountabilities for a team of data and solution architects, with opportunities to shape your team at your discretion.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Data Architecture Manager who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Data Architecture Manager would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in business, or STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) preferred or equivalent, with 5+ years of relevant working experience
  • Strong background and experience with cloud technologies and services, preferably AWS
  • Strong background and experience with data management technologies, preferably Snowflake, Informatica IICS, Informatica MDM
  • Strong background and experience with AI/ML technologies, preferably Python, R, Databricks
  • Solid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS/Openshift
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, DataOps and MLOps
  • Solid understanding of architectural frameworks and notations, such as TOGAF, C4
  • Technical knowledge of software application development and agile methodologies
  • Understanding and application of data / digital strategy and governance
  • Understanding of software development processes and procedures
  • Understanding of change management and release processes
  • Experience in using agile delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, etc. preferred We understand that even if you are a seasoned Data Architecture Manager you may not have all the skills listed here. If you are a good at what you do and have a willingness to learn, lets talk.
