    Stanley Black & Decker has embarked on a transformation of its global supply chain, and one of the main workstreams of this program is 'Manufacturing Excellence.' This workstream is responsible for implementing sustainable operational improvements that will translate into financial benefits for the company.

    To support this workstream, Stanley Black & Decker is building a world-class Manufacturing Excellence team that will work closely with manufacturing leaders and their teams to deliver these improvements.

    The Job:
    The Director of Manufacturing Excellence will manage multiple Manufacturing Excellence deployments across Stanley Black & Decker's global manufacturing network and supply chain to drive operational and financial benefits. They will also lead and develop a team of Manufacturing Excellence managers and engineers.
    This role is fundamentally a key agent for change within Stanley Black & Decker that requires a laser-like focus on rapid operational improvement coupled with the use of the Stanley Production System to ensure sustainable change. You'll get to:
    • Lead teams to complete diagnostics to determine improvement potential (operationally and financially) at manufacturing sites
    • Oversee multiple Fast Forward Site (12 weeks) deployments and targeted improvement interventions (4 weeks)
    • Facilitate training for Manufacturing Leadership and their teams
    • Facilitate training for Manufacturing Excellence Managers and Engineers to increase their skills and capabilities
    • Manage stakeholders to align on goals and targets (operationally and financially) and quantification of benefits
    • Support the deployment of Stanley Production System across manufacturing sites
    • Report on the progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones, and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success
    • Ability to review and assess operational data and develop an action plan to address gaps
    • Help shape the agenda for Continuous Improvement and support implementation across the global manufacturing network and supply chain
    • Develop relationships with key leaders in Power Tools, Outdoor, and Hand Tools & Storage business units
    • Lead codification of any newly developed approaches, methodologies, and results
      The Person:

      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10-15 years of manufacturing experience
      • Masters or MBA preferred
      • Manufacturing experience to include line responsibility and experience with the main manufacturing functions: production, maintenance, quality, production engineering, internal logistics, and launch (NPI)
      • Prior operational consulting experience preferred
      • Deep experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
      • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification
      • Proficiency with financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement
      • Ability to travel up to 70-80% of the time, global and domestic, travel % may vary based on business needsThe Details:
