Associate Director of LISH (Laboratory for Innovation Science at
Harvard)Harvard Business School60860BRJob SummaryThe Laboratory for
Innovation Science at Harvard, founded in 2010, co-led by
Professors Karim Lakhani, Eva Guinan, Kyle Myers, Marco Iansiti,
and David Parkes, is the largest and longest-running lab at the
Digital, Data, and Design (D-3) Institute. As such, the lab
requires a dynamic associate director who can work to drive
research in the following areas: open innovation and crowdsourcing,
data science and AI, and science of science and platforms. The
lab's multidisciplinary team includes research scientists,
postdoctoral fellows, research associates, program manager,
students, and a worldwide network of academic and practitioner
visitors.
Primary duties include managing internal program and research
operations at LISH and working closely with outside partners and
vendors. The Associate Director will lead significant portions of
the research operations, including identifying issues with partner
organizations, framing the details around research and operations,
and managing the execution of the work plans for research teams.
The Associate Director will report directly to the Senior Director,
Labs at D-3, and work closely with the Sr. Associate Director of
Lab Operations. This person will work heavily with the D-3
Institute's platforms including Data & Research Science, Learning
Network, and Research Accelerator. LISH has 10 faculty co-PIs that
will work with the Associate Director on strategic vision and
execution. LISH also employs 2 research scientists, 5 postdocs, 5
research associates, and 1 program manager.
The candidate must be willing to work with a dynamic team of
researchers with competing demands.Position
