The Regional Access manager (RAM) will be a US field-based colleague who will be the subject matter expert for patient support, access, prior authorization, appeal, regional payer coverage, and other business-related issues within the ALS marketspace. The RAM is a critical front-line member of the Amylyx team and will work with multiple internal stakeholders, including Sales, Market Access, National Accounts, Patient Services, and program vendors to deliver an exceptional customer experience. The RAMs will be called upon to successfully educate on and execute the national strategy by compliantly building access confidence with customers and breaking through access barriers to help patients gain access. In this position, the RAM will report to the US Head - National Access Management.
Responsibilities


  • Compliantly educate customers on complex patient access challenges for the benefit of patients/caregivers and their continuity of care
  • Demonstrate proficiency of local/regional/national payer coverage landscape, including Specialty Pharmacy and Utilization Management criteria
  • Educate physician office staff on the use and understanding of the Amylyx Care Team (ACT) patient support program, and available resources for their patients
  • Serve as a point of contact for the ACT patient support program. Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to lead pull through efforts
  • Serve as the external subject matter expert for all access-related issues, for the ACT patient support programs and for access issue resolution
  • Be able to analyze and convert data into actionable insight and executional next steps to facilitate patient access
  • Facilitate Quarterly Reviews with customers where appropriate, identify account specific trends/barriers that may impact product availability
  • Conduct academic center/office visits to facilitate pull through efforts and problem solve escalated issues
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Amylyx activities

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in science, MBA or related graduate-level degree preferred
    • Minimum 8+ years' experience in the biopharmaceutical industry (preferably rare/orphan disease) with 5+ years in access/reimbursement, specialty pharmacy or academic centers
    • Demonstrated success of cross-functional teamwork and working in a matrix environment
    • Ability to manage priorities, strong reasoning, detail oriented, proactive, and creative problem-solving abilities are essential
    • Knowledge of commercial and government payer systems required
    • Knowledge of specialty markets and patient support programs required
    • Previous experience launching rare/orphan products preferred
    • Valid U.S. drivers license in good standing
    • Approximately 30-70% travel required (depending on region); overnight travel required as needed
