Draper's Special Programs Rapid Response Business office delivers first-of-a-kind technical solutions addressing the Nation's most difficult security challenges. This role will support a large multi-functional team as part of a long-standing contract with history of immense success.We are seeking an experienced Program Manager (PM) who excels in fast-paced, dynamic work environments to deliver advanced technical solutions for USG customers. This PM will be expected to drive execution, innovation, and provide oversight that ensures Sponsor satisfaction, on-time delivery of product and contractual deliverables. The PM will also manage, strengthen, and grow customer relationships and support capture activities to include leading proposal efforts as required. Description of Responsibilities

  • Project execution to include leading a team of diverse skillsets, driving requirements, on-time delivery and budget management
  • Coordinate resources, provide clear direction and timelines for deliverables, and delegate tasks across the team
  • Identify, maintain and ensure project milestones and related activities are fully met
  • Work closely with technical team to ensure deep understanding of technical progress, assessment of issues/risks to better enable clear communication to Customer
  • Close and continuing communications and interactions direct with Gov't customer(s)
  • Participate in team meetings, generate action items and follow up with team members
  • Produce comprehensive and clear work products (spreadsheets, graphs and PowerPoint presentations) for meetings and management reports.
  • Evaluation of technical and business risks and identification/development of sound risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead business development efforts, to include proposals, white papers, RFIs complete with work statements, schedules, budgets, and technical content
  • Use technical background to identify and qualify Draper's capabilities for multi-use, cross-applicability
  • Coordinate with enabling functions teams (Contracts, Security, Configuration Management, Billing and Invoicing)


    • BS/MS/PhD in Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering, or similar field, with a minimum of 8 years of domain experience
    • Experience in program/project management of R&D technology development activities and integrating new technology into existing, fielded systems
    • Program/project management in complex technical activities
    • Agile leadership skills; Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities as needed in order to meet deadlines
    • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
    • Strong communication skills
    • Organized, detail-oriented, structured thinking and execution
    • High level of independent judgment and proactivity
    • Successful candidates will be those able to drive on-time program delivery for product that must meet mission requirements.
    • Experience in developing risk management plans, budgets, and schedules, and giving corresponding presentations at program reviews and technical interchange meetings
    • US Citizen
      Security Requirement:
      - Current in scope Top Secret security clearance is required.
