Research Director, Data Centers - U.S. RemoteJob ID60237Posted17-Aug-2022Service lineAdvisory SegmentRole typeFull-timeAreas of InterestData Centers, Research, Transaction ManagementLocation(s)Remote - US - Remote - US - United States of AmericaJOB SUMMARYThe Data Center Research Director is responsible for the research needs of the Data Center advisory group, including identifying trends in the industry, analyzing data points related to Data Centers, writing about their impact on the Data Center market, speaking about the Data Center market internally and externally and serving as the research expert related to Data Centers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the directing the development of actionable, commercial insights through presentations, whitepapers and other content that positions CBRE as the dominant voice in the industry and market.Collaborates with Research leadership in setting research goals, departmental strategies and operating budgets to meet the research and reporting needs in the creation of actionable publications.Collaborates with Business Line Leaders and Senior Management to understand their business objectives and develop an overall strategy that is aligned and focused towards helping each business line achieve their goals.Ensures local Data Center Solutions (DCS) research aligns with local, regional and global research initiatives on data harmonization, system and platform integration. Responsible for driving one global research initiative annually.Manages the execution of analytical activities related to Data Centers (via research analyst).Collaborates with business line leaders and senior managers to best meet business and client needs requiring research-related intelligence.Consults with service line leadership to obtain feedback on how well Research is meeting business needs and contributes to discussion on future plans for supporting those needs.Communicates company policies, research standards and best practices to be used to the business.Participates in business development meetings with leadership teams.Collaborates closely with Corporate Marketing and Communications to ensure maximum and correct exposure for research output and to generate a profile for CBRE as the leading market commentator.Lead the creation of key publications, from data collection and analysis thru to final production, in conjunction with peers across the organization and with support of a research analyst.Brief senior researchers, colleagues from the business teams and clients on data center trends in a clear and concise fashion, via formal (presentations) and informal (phone calls) methods.Develop a personal research agenda and materials for publication.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESProvides formal supervision to direct reports. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Conducts performance appraisal and other performance discussions with individual employees. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.SAFETY#INDSJ**Colorado Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidates education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Research Director, Data Centers position is $115,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Research Director, Data Centers position is $150,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidates skills, qualifications, and experience.
