Director/Senior Director, BioconjugationWhat's in it for you?In this role, you will lead Discovery Bioconjugation activities at Mersana. You will initiate and shape close partnerships with Chemistry, Biology and Analytical colleagues within a framework of projects aimed at discovery of ADC clinical candidates. Your leadership will critically influence Mersana's pipeline at an exciting time in our company's journey. You will report to Executive Director, Discovery Chemistry and Bioconjugation and will join the Discovery Chemistry Leadership Team. You will champion the development of new conjugation technologies integrated with the novel discovery platforms developed by Mersana. You will also have the opportunity to implement improvements to Mersana current platforms. You will effectively influence the strategic direction of scientific pursuit at Mersana by applying your knowledge and experience. You will clearly communicate strategy, progress, and challenges to key stakeholders. You will work closely with alliance managers for Mersana's external collaborators and ensure delivery of well characterized ADCs. You will work closely with your direct reports to ensure their professional growth as well as project success.How do you know if you're the right fit?You have the desire to learn, and you are passionate about science and drug discovery. You have a record of accomplishment of significant contributions to the successful identification of clinical development candidates, and of advancing projects against established timelines and clearly defined go/no go decision points. You have demonstrated experience in leading, managing and mentoring direct reports. You have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.The other stuffThis is typically a role best suited for Ph.D. or graduate degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline, at least 10 years of experience after Ph.D. including industry experience in oncology drug discovery, with a record of accomplishment and publications in top-tier peer reviewed scientific journals. Experience with discovery and development of Antibody Drug Conjugates is required.
