Job Description:
Inzen Therapeutics is a privately held, early-stage
biotechnology company dedicated to understanding the
microenvironment of many different diseased tissues in a much more
comprehensive and systemic approach. Inzen believes that until now,
we have been missing a broad range of important signals in those
microenvironments and that identifying these new signals will allow
for the development of truly differentiated therapeutics. The first
kind of new signals Inzen has identified are the signals dying
cells send to living cells around them. We call these signals
Thanokines, and we believe that ThanokineTM Biology is an important
driver of disease. While the ability of living cells to respond to
messages from other living cells is a well-established concept,
Inzen has shown that living cells also respond to messages released
by cells as they undergo turnover and die. Many forms of programmed
cell death are now known, but to date, very little has been done to
understand the interactions of the symphony of bioactive factors
that are released into the cellular microenvironment when cells
undergo one of these varied forms of programmed death.
Inzen Therapeutics was founded by Flagship Pioneering , an
organization dedicated to the origination and development of
first-in-category life sciences companies. Since 2000, Flagship has
originated and fostered the development of nearly 100 scientific
ventures resulting in $20+ billion in aggregate value, 500+ issued
patents, and more than 50 clinical trials for novel therapeutic
agents.
