changing the course of medicine. Job Description The Associate
Director, Global Safety and Regulatory Science Innovation will be
responsible for ensuring the Global Safety and Regulatory Sciences
(GSRS) organization utilizes technology and process optimization to
identify and implement opportunities to meet Global Safety and
Regulatory Sciences objectives. They will provide insight to Global
Safety and Regulatory Sciences to solve problems with technology
and process improvements and ensure consistency in design and
implementation of solutions. The Senior Manager will be responsible
for collaborating and implementing initiatives to achieve these
goals. What You'll Do: Identify use cases to support Global Safety
and Regulatory Sciences' advancement of Robotic Process Automation
and partner with Information Technology and Technology, Analytics
and Data Insights groups on implementation Develop and implement
Global Safety and Regulatory Sciences' technology strategy and
prioritization to support Biogen IT initiatives Work with IT and
other technology stakeholders to enhance/advance GSRS use of
technology Provide best practices across technology platforms to
ensure a single Technology, Analytics and Data Insights team
approach for system utilization, application/solution development,
reporting and visualizations, etc. Responsible for Global Safety
and Regulatory Sciences implementation of proof of concepts (PoC)
for new technologies (e.g., initial Oracle Apex PoC, Python for
extracting case narratives, evaluation AWS toolsets, etc.) Assist
other Technology, Analytics, and Design Insights groups in
development and implementation of solutions, analysis, reports,
etc. Understand and optimize use of current technology to identify
and solve complex business problems (e.g., data collection tools
using low code development, integration across multiple platforms,
etc.) Represent Technology, Analytics, and Design Insights
team/Lead Global Safety and Regulatory Science led Technology
Landscape Analyses in support of Global Safety and Regulatory
Sciences'' Annual Operating Plan and Long-Range Planning Who You
Are You're an analytical thinker who enjoys using technology
innovations to address the challenges of today and to develop plans
and tools for the future. Education Qualifications Bachelor's
degree in computer science, or biological/medical sciences, or
mathematics/statistics is required Advanced degree in computer
science, or biological/medical sciences, or mathematics/statistics
preferred. Required Experience And Skills 8 years working in Drug
Safety supporting safety systems, business process/operations,
Strong aptitude and desire to learn new/emerging technologies to
solve business problems. Ability to support reporting needs from
using reporting and BI tools (e.g., BusinessObjects, Tableau,
PowerBI, etc.) Understanding of statistical concepts and tools
(e.g., R, SAS, Python) and practical application Understanding of
post-marketing surveillance needs including use of real-world data.
Ability to create data collection applications using low code
development tools (e.g., Oracle Apex, Appian, etc.)
