Are you passionate about the power of data to democratize biomedical insights for the world? - We are seeking a Project Manager to join our project implementation team in Broad's Data Sciences Platform (DSP) as part of the Analysis, Visualization and Informatics Lab-space (AnVIL) project, a scalable and interoperable resource for the genomic scientific community, that leverages a cloud-based infrastructure for democratizing genomic data access, sharing and computing across large genomic, and genomic-related data sets, funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute. - DSP is a core part of the Broad Institute, a deeply-collaborative scientific institution that is transforming medicine and human health by building software solutions to process and analyze scientific data on an unprecedented scale. We are working to support the AnVIL's mission to facilitate integration and computing on and across large datasets generated by NHGRI programs, as well as initiatives funded by National Institutes of Health (NIH), or by other agencies that support human genomics research. As part of the AnVIL, we are working to develop a collaborative environment, where datasets and analysis workflows can be prepared for public release to the broad scientific community. - The Project Manager's role is to build a trusted and valuable partnership with the many internal and external stakeholders in the project, while supporting the development of a scalable infrastructure to support data ingestion. The right candidate will manage these relationships and communicate effectively with internal product teams, serving as a key part of our centralized implementation and delivery process. We are looking for a team member who shares our affinity for organization and is motivated by delivering value to our partners. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES Scientific and Technical Acumen Develops and manages the relationships with Data Coordinating Centers (DCCs) and study staff to understand their organization and data generation processes Implements and executes on standardized processes to support data ingestion into the AnVIL - Collaborates with internal stakeholders and ecosystem partners to resolve data ingestion and indexing issues - Facilitates the technical and scripting-based work required to support data ingestion Effectively communicates with scientific and technical stakeholders to complete all steps of the ingestion process - Prepares detailed reports on the status of data ingestion and escalates to project leadership, as needed, to resolve Coordinate and support the execution of the goals and milestones of the AnVIL project Project Management Responsible for successful delivery of assigned projects Documents and facilitates the definition of project scope, goals, and resource requirements Translates clearly defined project needs into deliverables, milestones, and timelines by establishing project plans Tracks progress of key milestones, ensuring execution of all deliverables Manages changes in timelines, deliverables and budget as needed Works closely with project leaders to establish quality criteria and monitor quality of projects Ensures appropriate communication with all project stakeholders regarding timelines and status, deadlines, data requirements, logistics and all other project-related issues BASIC REQUIREMENTS Growth mindset with the desire to work in a collaborative environment to promote and drive superior team performance Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic and high growth technology environment Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills Excellent organizational skills, able to manage timelines and deliverables across multiple engagements Excellent verbal and written communication skills Solutions-oriented problem solver BA/BS or equivalent, PMP preferred Working knowledge of R or Python preferred - Prior experience with NIH-funded projects and data generation preferred - The Broad will not offer Visa sponsorship for this opportunity. #LI-POST All Broad employees, regardless of work location, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
