Senior Director of Program Strategy, Development, and Delivery Harvard Graduate School of Education 55945BR Job Summary As an integral member of the HGSE Social Impact and Lifelong Learning (SILL) -senior leadership -team, the Senior -Director of -Program Strategy, -Development, -and Delivery -will join a dynamic group of colleagues focused on empowering educators to build competencies, skills, and networks necessary to have positive impact in the field of education. The -Senior -Director will oversee -the complete portfolio of -HGSE Professional Education -programs, -which are designed to equip -education -leaders, -practitioners, -and -advocates -with the knowledge and skills to improve student access, opportunity, and -success. - Job-Specific Responsibilities Strategic Visioning and Program Oversight Provide strategic direction and oversight of full Professional Education program portfolio and HGSE non-degree learning opportunities, including online and in-residence offerings Develop and implement robust market surveillance processes to effectively and efficiently monitor changing factors including client needs and competitor analysis Lead teams to define and design programs through deep collaboration among faculty and the Programs teams using data-driven approach to process as well as program lifecycle management Approve go-to-market timelines and deliver programs on time and on budget - Establish benchmarks and KPIs for program development and performance Maintain the program portfolio roadmap and represents it for key stakeholders internally and externally, including the Dean's Office and faculty program leadership Attend relevant meetings of and with HGSE faculty to develop ideas for new research, content, and/or skill-based assets that can be used for SILL units and HGSE Degree Programs Design and implement processes, systems, and policies regarding program and/or asset creation, expansion, or modality transfer (e.g., in-person to online) to standardize practices among the Programs teams Support the Design and Delivery teams in assessing new tools and technologies for process improvement in collaboration with HGSE IT, Teaching & Learning Lab, and other units Ensure high-quality support for faculty throughout their experience working with Professional Education Participate in unit-, School-, and/or University-wide activities, committees, and work groups as needed Team Leadership and Organization Evaluate existing program strategies, procedures, and processes to ensure maximum coordination, synergy, and efficiencies amongst Professional Education team members Supervise the Professional Education Portfolio Directors, Director for Program Development, and Assistant Director for Program Operations Convene team members on a regular basis to ensure cohesion and transparent, collaborative decision-making Lead Program Strategy meetings with members of the Programs, Admissions, and Marketing teams to understand upcoming program enrollment needs Lead Academic Team meetings with Portfolio Directors and Associate Directors Support and lead efforts to ensure Professional Education's ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging Model inclusive leadership in team meetings, hiring actions, performance management, opportunities for growth, and mentorship - Serve as a resource to all direct reports, stepping in as needed to provide additional support and/or coverage - Resource Management High-level oversight of Program Strategy, Development, and Delivery budgets, working with team members to ensure expenses and projections are accurate and within financial allocations - Provide guidance and advocacy about resource allocation to ensure high-quality development and delivery of Professional Education offerings - Basic Qualifications B.A./B.S. required; minimum 7 years progressively responsible experience in a program, publishing, or service-delivery leadership function; experience leading and managing senior staff; experience managing budgets. Additional Qualifications and Skills Master's or other advanced -degree -in education or management-related -field -preferred. Experience managing a dynamic, fast-paced business organization serving multiple constituencies. Expertise in design, development, delivery and evaluation of professional learning programs, Programs, and/or services, including the launch of new initiatives. -Experience and comfort engaging field-based education leaders to understand their professional learning needs, including current and potential customers. - Demonstrated strategic planning skills and experience. Demonstrated ability to build strong, productive relationships with a range of stakeholders. -Effective team-building skills and experience motivating, supervising, and supporting staff to achieve organizational goals. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to build trust and work closely with faculty and staff at all levels within and outside the -School. High level of attention to detail and the ability to set direction for outstanding service across multiple functions.
