You will TRAIN your team to EXCEED quota and PROMOTE your team into bigger Sales roles in the company.Job Summary:This role will be responsible for managing a team of sales professionals and generating inside selling activity, maintaining customer relationships, developing new business opportunities, and increasing market share. Works strategically with customers prospects within a defined account assignment or territory. Manages the performance of individual contributors and the overall team and grows and develops talent within the organization.Vertica is about unlimited opportunity and this type of opportunity only comes around once in a career. In addition to building out the inside sale team, your team will launch our new SaaS version of our world-class data analytics solution. Vertica has the feel and energy of a start-up with the financial backing of a 3 billion dollar global software company.Responsibilities:
    • Manage area(s), customer(s), or team(s) of company employees with well- defined, limited scope, including directing daily work activities/priorities, people recruitment and development, cost management, and direction- setting within the area of responsibility.
    • Coach and mentor employee direct reports. May coach and mentor non-direct reports as needed. Manages team and individual performance.
    • Advise management and peers on matters of importance to area(s) of responsibility. Propose/influence direction-setting.
    • Assign responsibilities, provides direction, leadership, and coaching, removes barriers as needed to enable direct reports to execute their roles and achieve objectives and goals.
    • Create a working environment that is conducive to individual growth, high performance, is challenging and rewarding. Achieves diversity and other HR goals.
    • Establish and manage relationships with customer subject matter experts and appropriate customer management, with an objective of maintaining and building the business.
    • Build, maintain and forecast sales pipeline, create and develop account plans. Works closely with company outside sales, channel partners and/or end customers to move sales opportunities to close.
    • Generate and qualify leads to create new sales opportunities.
    • Set and execute sales strategy for assigned portion of account, territory, or industry vertical.
    • Drive improvement of inside sales operational efficiencies
    • Drive the transformation of inside sales capabilitiesEducation and Experience Required:
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
      • May hold Master's or advanced degree in related field. Typically 8+ years of relevant experience.Knowledge and Skills:
