With key milestones approaching for Sotatercept in pulmonary medicine and pipeline assets advancing in pulmonary and other diseases, Acceleron is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history. As we build our Commercial team, you will shape and drive critical Commercial initiatives for a rapidly expanding organization. Reporting to the Vice President, Sales and Commercial Learning and Development this is a unique role for a highly talented and experienced individual to lead the development and operational learning and training efforts aligning with key organizational strategies and product launches. In addition, the execution of learning technologies to enhance the impact of the Commercial Learning and Development coordination and major initiative support within the Commercial Organization. The role requires technical capabilities and strong and experienced interpersonal skills requiring a significant amount of collaboration throughout all levels of the organization. Additional responsibilities include the development and management of processes to support the implementation and execution of the Commercial Learning and Development business plan, evaluation of new learning technologies, and seeking to expand the ability to deliver learning throughout Home Office Commercial Team and the Field Sales Organization. A high level of initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, creativity, collaboration and attention to detail is required to develop, plan and execute successfully in this dynamic role. What will you be doing? Critical to this individual's success will be his/her ability to gain alignment among multiple internal stakeholders and drive established project requirements to completion. Therefore, this person needs to immediately establish themselves as a collaborative partner by: In collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, IT, Compliance and Commercial Operations leadership develop field customer facing and commercial home office cross functional partners learning and training curricula, state-of-the-art training tools, materials and related skills development programs to meet launch and brand training needs. Lead and direct regular training needs assessment activities, proposing and developing solutions to fill training gaps. Function as an integral part of the Commercial Team including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, IT, Compliance and Commercial Operations teams, building trusted partnerships with commercial stakeholders. Represent Learning and Development in brand and business planning and product launches. Ensure all programming and materials meet regulatory and legal requirements. Foster a learning environment based on adult learning principles that ensures optimal comprehension, development and retention. Stay abreast of learning, training and development best practices and current trends in pharmaceutical and life science industries - utilizing current advances within digital, live and virtual platforms. Comprehensive understanding of the latest clinical information related to Acceleron's products and related disease state landscape, in order to optimize the delivery and relevance of training materials and programs. Develop and manage the respective fiscal budget related to Learning and Development activities specific to commercial needs, goals and priorities. Evaluate needs and potential solutions for opportunities to apply 'broader than sales' which can be more strategically and efficiently applied throughout the commercial team. Develop and Maintain effective vendor partnerships and Alliance Management relationships to achieve high quality outcomes. Create, monitor and maintain a learning and training schedule to advance the professional development of new hire and tenured field facing colleagues. What are we looking for?: Bachelor's degree. 8+ years experience in the pharmaceutical/life science/biotech industry and or previous experience in a learning, training and development organization; This could include but is not limited to field sales, sales management, product line extensions and launches, field market access and brand marketing. Pulmonology/Cardiology/Rare Disease Experience Preferred. Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing and measuring training effectiveness. Excellent virtual, presentation and verbal skills. Able to work under pressure, to meet short timeframes and to collaborate across groups. Excellent interpersonal skills and the be able to interact seamlessly with all levels. Strong project management experience; be able to prioritize effectively. Experience in communicating thoughts and ideas with executive levels of leadership written and oral communications. Strong leadership, collaboration and management competencies and business acumen. Desire and ability to communicate/interact with others while promoting teamwork; enthusiastic and a cooperative attitude. Understanding of the organization and culture including regulations, policies and reporting requirements. Proactive and self-directed; Able to execute with little is no oversight. Individual leader who can multi-task, flex quickly, reprioritize and set expectations in a fast paced environment. Strong attention to detail, organization and planning skills and ability to communicate clearly with all internal stakeholders as well as external consultants, agencies, and vendors. Maintain confidentiality where appropriate. Proven business acumen, including strong analytical skills, interpretation and business problem solving. Strong decision-making skills and ability to delegate/lead business critical initiatives. Mental/Physical Requirements: Fast paced environment handling multiple demands. Must be able to exercise appropriate judgment as necessary. Requires a high level of initiative and independence.
