Job Description:

The Survey Package Manager independently manages geophysical and geotechnical areas of work on behalf of the Delivery Director and in close collaboration with the Permitting, Engineering, HSSE and Commercial team This role manages planned site survey operations feeding in to longer-term future engineering, installation, and decommissioning activities and functions as the survey focal point within the JV providing the leadership necessary to deliver integrated geoscience datasets and interpretive reports that will satisfy COP submittal needs and comply with applicable BOEM guidelines or regulatory requirements. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Tendering survey contracts, including identification of contractor resources, vetting technical competencies, managing commercial and procurement, verifying HSSE capabilities and ensuring the delivering of quality deliverables by contractors.
  • Manage day-to-day safe and efficient operations including progress reports, managing scope changes, and managing schedule and budget - to be cascaded up to leadership team and board meetings.
  • Assessing and supporting the development of leading-edge technologies where these can add to the value or efficiency of the JV's business.
  • Providing HSSE support and assurance by fostering a culture of safe survey practices, including mentoring, encouraging and leading survey contractors in their continuing development of the same.
  • Managing offshore geophysical, geotechnical and archaeological investigations capable of acquiring the geoscientific data necessary to identify potential geohazards and evaluate infrastructure constructability within the offshore lease area, along intertidal, nearshore and offshore transmission corridors up to landfall facilities.
  • Managing geoscience contractors including scoping and throughout all scopes of work required to collect, interpret, and deliver the necessary geoscientific data, including an integrated geological ground model.
  • Delivering relevant information during EPCI Invitation to Tender phases. This information includes robust datasets of onshore/offshore geohazards, or potential archaeological resources needed by selected EPCI contractors to develop infrastructure plans and manage potential project risks.--
  • Integrating into various engineering, commercial, regulatory and external relations work streams in order to understand and anticipate project teams' geoscientific information needs with regards to layout optimization, construction efficiency and avoidance of geohazards, potential archaeological or cultural resources, and environmental sensitive habitats.
  • Participating in regulatory meetings, stakeholder engagement meetings, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Advocating for new technologies, innovative survey methodologies, and meaningful data reporting approaches. Travel: Up to 15% DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • S degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
    • Experience with shallow water, nearshore, and onshore geophysics and geotechnics is required.
    • Professional communication skills and an ability to effectively understand and manage diverging views and opinions to effectively interface with the development team, JV leadership, and external stakeholders.
    • Strong personal leadership in HSSE and Quality
    • Minimum 10 years professional experience in offshore wind/ oil & gas.
    • Proven track record of contract management and delivery of large complex offshore scope, including design, construction, and commissioning.
    • Experience with international projects, with construction spanning multiple continents including complicated logistics is a plus.
    • Design, installation and commissioning of electrical systems in wind projects is a plus.
    • Project delivery experience leading scopes > 50 mln USD.
    • Work location is Boston, MA.
    • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.
    • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred BEHAVIORAL REQUIREMENTS
      • Large offshore wind projects (site capacity > 1GW manage)
      • Scope geoscience surveys: lease area and export cables
      • Manage 1-10 contracts worth $50 MM
      • 5-10 direct and indirect reports
      • Ensure that the Delivery, Engineering, Development, and Commercial Teams works efficiently together to realize a positive return from the entire lease, managing the value-based decision PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
        • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to frequently perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching while on project sites; ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
        • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
        • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds
        • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
        • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary Travel Required Yes . Up to 15% Qualifications Education Required Bachelors or better in Engineering.
