Director, BPA Strategic Projects - Finance (NIBR- Cambridge, MA)

This role is responsible to lead and drive key strategic and
operational projects sponsored by NIBR CFO, Global Head BPA NIBR or
NIBR Finance Leadership Team.
You will provide financial consulting and operationally drive
business strategies and plans, translating them into substantial
actions/projects and then leading execution of identified projects.
This includes running financial planning, reporting, analysis and
expertise to support decision making, drive productivity and risk
management for a NIBR Disease Area / Functional Area.
More specifically, this includes the following areas:
A> Strategy and Project Management:
Lead and drive strategic and operational projects to execution with
measurable business impact
Lead multidisciplinary teams and project handle sophisticated
projects - example R&D efficiency
Work closely with NIBR Finance, Strategy and NIBR Portfolio
Management teams and prepare and present regular updates to senior
management.
Examples of other projects include NIBR strategy, NIBR outsourcing
models, Resource Allocation optimization, DA/FA capacity
analysis
Independently lead and/or handle several projects at stages
Make recommendations to leaders, supported by analytics, to drive
value creation and efficiency for NIBR
Identify key learning and apply to future initiatives to drive
improvement
B> Planning, Forecasting and Analysis:
Timely and accurate submission of Budget, LFs and monthly outlooks
with a focus on forecast quality and accurate expense phasing
Ensure visibility and understanding of business partner financial
performance with variance analysis and reporting in results
dashboard
Support decision making through modeling and analysis
Proactively manage risks/opportunities and initiate corrective
measures as vital to deliver financial targets
Maintain good accounting and compliance
C> Business Partnering:
Partner effectively with Head of assigned Disease Area, Platform,
or Function
Drive/Support decision-making process with ad-hoc financial
analysis, driving resource allocation choices
Pressure test assumptions and provide critical challenges. Evaluate
risks/opportunities, proactively communicate and make
recommendations for mitigation.
Follow up and ensure issues are addressed
Communicate openly and efficiently within the matrix
organization
Ensure business partners understand the financial processes and
follow internal guidelines/SOPs

Education:
--- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related
subject area is required
--- MBA or PhD is preferred
Experience:
--- 8+ years of direct BPA business experience is required per job
description, preferably from a pharma, biotech, or healthcare
firm.
--- Experience leading cross-functional strategic projects with
measurable business impact
--- Excellent analytical and data driven attitude - A confirmed
ability to "see beyond the numbers" and provide analytical
insights
--- Experience and ability to synthesize information and present it
in a clear and structured way
--- Strategic Management consulting background /experience is
strongly preferred
--- Experience in multiple countries; cross-cultural experience is
an asset
