• Cross functional leader and influential execution and delivery decision maker that has direct impact on assets and functions
• Key decision maker in asset level execution and delivery strategies related to both risk identification and effective mitigations-- ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Leadership of delivery for numerous assets in Rare Disease (RED) area or specialty area in preclinical, clinical, translational
  • Cross functional leader and influential execution and delivery decision maker that has direct impact on assets and functions
  • Key decision maker in asset level execution and delivery strategies related to both risk identification and effective mitigations
  • Proactively creates and implements delivery strategies to enable predictable and seamless delivery of projects
  • Execution and delivery leader both within GPTs and functions as well as outside with vendors
  • Drives for and implements process efficiency and improvements using learnings and events from across programs
  • Leads the development of team data strategies, goals, and priorities in data science aligned with Takeda's business needs in asset and disease strategies. Understanding how data science projects fit at a macro and micro level with the goal of using data science to better understand the patient journey and to help tailor interventions that maximize patient benefit.
  • Leads the performance of beginning-to-end data analyses, from data strategy to objective formulation, to data exploration and insights, to hypotheses formulation, experimental design, writing
  • analysis plans, data cleaning and curation, executing analysis, to interpretation and preparing reports with documentation CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE
    • Provide leadership and expertise to best construct data and execute analysis for feature detection, retrospective and predictive modelling, within a complex R&D and Vaccines environment.
    • Understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Re-enforcement learning and other techniques to be able to use and teach these methods inside the organization.
    • Ability to stay up to speed on modern data techniques, understand how to apply them and constantly demonstrated how and where to apply these new methods.
    • Ability to produce analysis for and defend results to PhD and executive level audience across the organizations
    • Design, Execute, QC and Deliver Data Science Analysis independently and effectively across the organization ---DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise
      • Technical expertise across a broad disease area - understands the disease space to drive methodology advancements
      • Leader in cross functional decision-making regarding methods to optimize the likelihood of drug R&D success
      • Capable of guiding major technical and methodology efforts in applying them to the business
      • Expertise in industry trends including but not limited to regulatory and payer policy and initiatives on quantitative solutions related to disease area
      • Drives for efficiency using innovative processes and methodologies Leadership

        • Proactively creates and implements sub-strategies to enable the promotion of SQS and DSI vision and mission within TAUs, BUs, and R&D functions

          • Determine what methods are best for specific analysis engagements in order to drive to a design as well as determining their bias.--
          • Ability to determine what technology and methods can be combined for the optimal result on an ever-changing product landscape.
          • Drive to where the Data Leads and keep analysis aligned with unbiased analysis of the data. Interaction
            • While performing an analysis, coordinating with other data specialists while presenting to Executive (VP+) level audience across multiple organizations.
            • Coordinate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Statisticians, Computational Biologists and other Data Specialists across the product ecosystem.
            • Strong communication and the ability to clearly convey information both in the group and to external groups.
            • Ability to conduct high level conversations with internal partners as well as external collaborators.
            • Ability to understand complex problems and be able to apply modern technology patterns to them.
            • Ability to influence technical directions both internally and externally to applied data engagements.
            • Ability to keep up to speed on the latest methods in data analysis. This will include the machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning and the continuing new updates/ Complexity
              • Ability to distill complex product feedback into actionable strategies, implementations and stable deployments.
              • Ability to have an agile time-based delivery team operate within a traditional project and waterfall-based funding and approval cycles.
              • Ability to derive high accuracy insight from unstructured, incomplete, or large data sets when traditional techniques do not work. EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
                • PhD with 8+ years' related industry experience
                • MS with 12+ years' related industry experience
                • Significant depth of expertise in at least one field relevant to the job (for example, machine learning, signal processing, etc.) and strong background in of statistical and data mining techniques (regression, decision trees, clustering, neural networks, supervised and unsupervised learning.)
                • Ability to work independently on complicated datasets, including all aspects of data analysis (data cleaning, algorithm development, statistical analysis, and documentation).
                • Strongly prefer a working to expert knowledge of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows operating systems, ideally with experience in high-performance computing environments. Expert knowledge of common programming and computing principles.
                • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
                • Willingness and ability to self-educate in new areas.
