Job Description Job Description Overview Summary: Essco, a

culture. The Onsite/Field Service Calibration Technician I is
responsible for performing accurate calibrations on a wide range of
equipment at customer sites and in the field, ensuring compliance
with industry standards and customer requirements. This role
involves following established procedures, documenting results,
maintaining calibration and test equipment, and adhering to safety
practices while providing exceptional customer service. The
technician works independently to complete calibrations efficiently
and accurately, supports customer needs through effective
communication, identifies opportunities for process improvement,
and contributes to maintaining quality standards and turnaround
times. Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a
commitment to continuous learning are essential to success in this
position. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(include the following, with other duties may be assigned): Perform
accurate calibrations using appropriate standards, methods, and
procedures to ensure measurement integrity. Analyze and interpret
calibration data, documenting results in accordance with Essco and
customer requirements. Complete calibrations safely, efficiently,
and consistently following Essco and customer-specific templates
and protocols. Maintain accurate and timely records, including
calibration data, timesheets, expenses, and related documentation.
Handle, transport, and maintain calibration standards, test
equipment, and customer assets with care and in compliance with
established procedures. Communicate effectively with customers to
understand requirements, address calibration-related questions, and
ensure requests are met in line with Essco policies. Identify and
share potential business opportunities observed during customer
interactions with the appropriate internal resource. Set up and use
IT equipment (e.g., laptops, printers) as required to support
onsite calibration activities. Adhere to all safety requirements at
customer sites and consistently apply safe work practices. Work
independently to manage assignments, maintain organization, and
meet deadlines while demonstrating initiative and accountability.
Support team success by fostering collaboration, providing
customer-focused service, and upholding the highest standards of
integrity. Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen
technical expertise and remain current with industry standards and
practices (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025:2017, TAR, TUR, uncertainties).
Qualifications Education and Experience: Technical training in
electrical or mechanical fields. Certification or training in
metrology, such as PMEL, ASQ, METCAL, NCSLI, MSC, or other
industry-recognized programs, is preferred. Relevant experience
across a range of calibration disciplines, testing, or engineering
environments. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of
calibration principles including traceability, substitution of
standards, TAR/TUR, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. Proficiency
with pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and computer-based
instrumentation and process control systems. Strong analytical,
problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to
prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication and
interpersonal skills to build customer relationships, collaborate
with teams, and document results clearly. Proficiency with
calibration and enterprise software (e.g., IndySoft, MetCal, ACT)
and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, SharePoint, Teams
preferred). Reliable, self-driven, safety-conscious, and able to
work independently while maintaining confidentiality and
professional integrity. Physical Demands: The physical demands

willing and able to travel up to 90% of the time. Requires
effective communication and the ability to sit, stand, walk, reach,
and use hands and fingers for tasks such as operating equipment and

climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as
needed. Close vision is required for tasks involving detailed
inspection or data entry. Work involves travel to customer sites,
which may include laboratory, cleanroom, or manufacturing
environments. Exposure may occur to moving mechanical parts,
pressurized cylinders, chemicals, and high-voltage equipment;
employees must follow all safety protocols. Routine use of office
equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers in both Essco and
customer spaces; typical noise levels range from quiet to moderate.
