Job Description Job Description Electrical Engineering Coordinator - Shipbuilding Location: Greater Providence, RI Salary Range: Competitive A leading maritime engineering and construction company is seeking an Electrical Engineering/Coordinator to support electrical design and integration throughout all stages of vessel development. This role oversees preliminary and final electrical design, ensures regulatory compliance, collaborates closely with production teams, and works with vendors and partners to maintain quality and meet project timelines. Key Responsibilities Create electrical schematics, equipment foundations, and arrangement drawings using AutoCAD Review, update, and finalize electrical drawings; complete ECRs when required Confirm internal designs meet construction standards and established shipbuilding practices Evaluate and approve vendor submissions and coordinate with design/lofting groups to maintain schedules Support production teams during installation and provide field assistance Review purchase orders for major electrical systems and equipment Work closely with trades to develop build strategies and module planning Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience 5-15 years of maritime electrical engineering experience (commercial or military) Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven analytical and organizational abilities Proficiency in AutoCAD, Ship Constructor Software, and Microsoft Office Working knowledge of vessel electrical systems, power distribution, monitoring and alarm systems, AC drives, motors, transformers, control circuits, navigation/bridge controls, wiring, cable routing, penetrations, oneline diagrams, and schematics Company Description DSJ Global is a revolutionary search firm, specializing in the bespoke delivery of executive search solutions to clients.
