Scientist, Biology - Antibody Engineering

What's in it for you?

You will be a cornerstone of the growing Antibody Engineering group and the effort to apply novel antibody formats and scaffolds to Mersana's proprietary DolaLock ADC platform. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design and conduct experiments to drive these innovations in collaboration with colleagues across Research, especially in Bioconjugation
  • Learn the many facets of drug discovery from target identification and validation, to antibody discovery campaigns, to pharmacology & toxicology, and ultimately to IND-enabling studies.
  • Immerse yourself in one of the hottest therapeutic modalities in oncology: antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
  • Be exposed to strategies, results and decisions regarding our clinical programs.
  • Develop and grow into the role of Project Leader, and become responsible for leading drug discovery programs from target selection to the clinic. How do you know if you're the right fit?

    • You've been trained to conduct scientific research with rigorous thought and experimentation, and you've developed strong technical skills.
    • You have strong experience in molecular biology, DNA cloning, and mammalian cell culture, in antibody engineering, expression and purification, and in protein binding assays such as ELISA, Octet and Flow Cytometry.
    • You have initiated, persevered, and succeeded in various research efforts, and have published your research on interesting biological and antibody engineering questions.
    • You've mastered the field in which you currently conduct research. You're motivated by the desire to impact patients' lives through drug discovery, and you appreciate the teamwork that is critical for success.
      The other stuff

      This role is typically best suited for a Ph.D. in cancer biology, cell and molecular biology, bioengineering or related discipline, with some postdoctoral experience in academia and/or industry and a track record of publications in top tier peer-reviewed scientific journals. Position is eligible for bonus, option awards and benefits including medical, dental and life insurance, 401(k) participation, vacation, and paid holidays.
