24M Technologies was founded in 2010. Our operations, including Product Development, R&D, and Manufacturing Development and we are located near Central Square in a custom built facility. We have developed a breakthrough battery technology that provides low-cost, high energy density, safe and long-life storage for transportation and grid markets.

Job Description

The Associate Battery Engineer will work on the Advanced R&D team to evaluate new materials for use in 24M's semisolid lithium-ion batteries and support all areas of materials testing and reporting. Primary responsibilities of this position include (1) materials validation (2) test method development (3) prototype battery assembly, (4) documenting testing procedures, and (5) analyzing and reporting results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Materials Science or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Demonstrated electro-mechanical skills: equipment operation, materials handling, process assembly, and analytical testing
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate in a data driven manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and also as part of team
  • Proven ability to complete projects on time
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook email applications
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and taking responsibility for project implementation
    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct materials characterization testing
    • Develop and validate standard test procedures and equipment. Write standard operating procedures.
    • Assemble development cells from hand-built lab prototypes to semi-automated and automated assembly.
    • Analyze and report test results and cell data.
    • Performing other functions as required to support the R&D operation
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
      Additional Information

      Supervisory Responsibility
      • Work closely with technicians supporting work and assisting them in developing a greater understanding of what they are doing and why they are doing it.
        Physical and Environmental Standards
        • Capable of working in low moisture dry room environment:
        • Capable of wearing clean room attire when working in dry room environment: face mask, hair net, safety glasses, gloves, coverall suit and shoe covers
        • Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
