The OpportunityModerna is creating a new class of transformative medicines based on messenger RNA ("mRNA") to improve the lives of patients. Moderna's therapeutic and vaccine development programs span infectious diseases, immuno-oncology, rare diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and autoimmune diseases.Moderna's Personalized mRNA Cancer Vaccine, mRNA-4157/V940, in combination with pembrolizumab, in a Phase IIb head-to-head study with pembrolizumab monotherapy is fully enrolled in high-risk of recurrence melanoma patients. The Ph IIb trial met its primary efficacy endpoint and Moderna/Merck issued a joint press release in December 2022. -The RoleReporting to the Global Commercial Lead the Director, Global Marketing, Asset Commercial Lead (ACL) Oncology, will be a key member of the team. This role will have responsibility to execute the long-term and integrated commercial strategy for the Personalized mRNA Cancer Vaccine (PCV) in Oncology. This individual will partner with cross-functional leaders in R&D, Medical Affairs, Value and Access, and Commercial Operations within Moderna as well as with respective counterparts at Merck for PCV related activities.This position is accountable for operationalizing asset strategy for PCV/Oncology in alignment with the overall portfolio strategy. The ACL will represent commercial trade-offs to inform key decisions and will involve conducting commercial analyses, gathering insights from different functions, developing initiatives, addressing long-term commercial issues, and scenario planning. Finally, this function is responsible for rolling out global marketing, commercial initiatives and preparing for launch and commercialization of Personalized mRNA Cancer Vaccine in collaboration with Merck in the US. The ACL will work closely with the regions and countries as the program nears commercialization.Here's What You'll Do

  • Accountable for ensuring compelling global commercial strategy drive PCV/Oncology planning, strongly balance near-term and long-term priorities with a commitment to a course of action to accomplish established goals. -
  • Represent Moderna interests at JCC on the current Merck partnerships on PCV (e.g. global profit sharing with Merck for PCV).
  • Develop impactful launch strategies and associated plan for PCV (incl. resources/ programs) and a comprehensive external engagement plan (incl. KOLs, policy, patient advocacy)
  • Work in a team-based environment and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure strategic solutions carry a cross-functional perspective.
  • Provide strategic thinking to allow for identification of market opportunities in review of lifecycle plans for PCV portfolio of indications
  • Ensure a strong commercial voice shapes future scenario planning and key investment decisions.
  • Contribute towards strategy and planning for broader Oncology portfolio.
  • Ensure country launch readiness and excellence for both assets, with capability builds as required.
  • Represent all commercial related matters to senior executives and governance committees.
  • Set a tone by ensuring clarity on the bold ambition and vision behind PCV.

    • Bachelor's Degree required with a minimum 10 years of marketing experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

      • Global Marketing experience highly preferred

      • Proven experience and knowledge of a broad base of external customers including patients, prescribers, payors, and providers
      • Evidence of developing compelling global strategies & business cases with proven ability to manage complex and dynamic projects
      • Working with Research & Development with sufficient understanding of technical risks and the commercial implications.
      • Excellent project & budget management skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects & priorities to deliver business objectives.
