When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives.Job Type:RegularScheduled Hours:40Work Shift:Day (United States of America)Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Executive Director of Administrative Operations at Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) will provide strategic leadership with the integration of administrative services to enhance operational effectiveness and the overall experience of those interacting with system services. The position will partner with and support system leaders on efforts that enable BILH to optimize its operations and strategy as a single, well-integrated system that is positioned to succeed in a rapidly changing and complex health care environment.This position will serve as a senior advisor to the CAO to establish and operate critical support functions in a shared service environment and to improve the performance of system service functions. The Executive Director will be responsible for enhancing operational effectiveness of system service functions and establish standards to measure the effectiveness of the services being delivered across the system to strive for continuous improvement. The Executive Director, Administrative Operations will interface with leaders across the health system to establish a process to improve collaboration among system services and strive for continuous improvement in BILH administrative services. Additionally, this position will partner with system leaders to ensure operational models and work processes support BILH's goals, priorities, and mission. This individual will play a key role in building relationships with executives across the system to drive clinical and operational efficiencies and manage system service and administrative integration and transformation priorities.Job Description:Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Partner with and support system leaders on efforts that enable BILH to optimize its operations and strategy as a single, well-integrated system that is positioned to succeed in a rapidly changing and complex health care environment.
  • Collaborate with system service leaders to create, maintain and report on KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the system service functions, monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Advance system service's operating model by leading the development of standardized service agreements between System Service leaders and BILH Presidents.
  • Lead teams that help drive and support the execution of the service agreements and develop a method to monitor and measure performance in delivering on the agreements and remedies if the service levels aren't being met
  • Manage the day-to-day system service integration efforts, including project management, reporting, and analytics to achieve rapid progress against goals.
  • Identify additional opportunities to centralize BILH functions into system services.
  • Complete the transition of the real estate office and operations to report to the CAO and determine the future state of facilities operations.
  • Establish a unified BILH System Center for Beth Israel Lahey in Charlestown, MA.
  • Ensure, and develop mechanisms for cross-system collaboration.
  • Manage the system service integration team to ensure successful delivery of system projects.
  • Foster a collaborative, inspiring work environment to harness the talent of a high-performing team, create opportunities for personal and professional growth, and deliver exceptional results.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of integration-related reports to regulatory agencies. Collaborate with system leaders to ensure processes and systems are put in place to support regulatory requirements and business goals.
  • Enhance operational effectiveness of system service functions and establish standards to measure the effectiveness of the services being delivered across the system to strive for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication across multiple departments for cross-departmental projects.
  • Ensure accountability and support functional areas by strengthening organizational dashboards and reports, use of data, analytics, and trends analysis to measure organizational progress.
  • Foster a service mindset and ensure cooperation and engagement with other strategic divisions across the organization to ensure a unified strategy across all aspects of operations.Minimum Qualifications:Education: BS required. Master's degree in business administration, healthcare management, public health or related fields preferred.Licensure, Certification & Registration: N/AExperience: 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare management, project management, operations or consulting experience.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
    • Experience directing and managing the implementation of large, complex initiatives requiring the coordination of multiple resources.
    • Demonstrated skills and experience developing senior leadership relationships and managing stakeholders at all leadership levels.
    • A pro-active organized planner, able to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
    • Ability to employ an effective, diplomatic, and influential communication style that works across the organization to gain support and implement positive and successful change initiatives to improve overall processes and systems.
    • Demonstrates exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and partnership.
