Job Description:
The RoleThis role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical
part of the talent engine fueling a high growth organization that
is radically changing the biotech industry. Moderna is looking for
a Vice President to lead the Corporate FP&A team. This role is
responsible for the execution of advanced analysis and insight of
Moderna's financial projections and strategic goals in coordination
with the broader Finance team. In this position you will work in
close partnership with the CFO and other members of executive
management to analyze and present financial results and
high-priority initiatives. This individual has the unique position
of seeing a holistic and strategic view of the company and the
industry, both internally as well as externally through
collaboration in earnings and investor communications. This is a
highly visible role in our organization, working very closely with
the CFO and with frequent exposure to the Executive Committee
members. We're looking for a candidate that can confidently lead in
a fast-paced environment, while both navigating ambiguity and
driving results forward as we strive to achieve Moderna's mission
to deliver on the promise of mRNA science to create a new
generation of transformative medicines for patients. The successful
candidate will report to the Chief Finance Officer and will serve
as a member of the Finance Leadership Team.Here's What You'll
Do
- Own and drive Moderna's budgeting and forecasting processes in
close collaboration with the CFO and the Executive Committee
- Perform analysis on forecasted and historical financial and
strategic performance, both on a consolidated level but also across
various business units, products and geographies as required
- Work on the consolidation and creation of executive management
presentations and develop thoughtful and clear commentary and
talking points for executive management in preparation for Board
presentations and external conferences
- Prepare innovative visualizations, presentations and commentary
to help summarize complex information and highlight key issues
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, and
effectively supervise the activity of others and create
accountability with those
- Drive the consolidated management reporting and variance
analysis across the company for P&L, and cash flow and provide
insightful analysis
- Provide support to central finance functions (IR, Treasury,
Tax) and external auditors with regards to financial reporting/
analysis
- Evaluate current planning tool and establish a roadmap for our
planning systems landscape in alignment with evolution of our
business
- Drive automation of processes to enable future scaling
- Own the expense management for the G&A organization
including budgeting and expense management for executive committee
members
- Work on highly sensitive and urgent ad hoc requests

What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree required
- 12+ years of experience in Finance/ FP&A/ Accounting
roles
- 7+ years of experience in listed multinational
organizations
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech
industry with prior experience in Corporate FP&A Here's What

- MBA or advanced degree highly preferred
- International experience strongly preferred
- Excellent quantitative and data visualization skills with a
strong attention to detail
- Comfortable structuring and executing own workstream and
deliverables, especially when presented with only general guidance;
knows how to take limited direction and respond with highly
effective materials and analysis
- Willingness to operate in a fast-paced, intense environment
with multiple stakeholders
- Sharp communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence
and convince others, especially colleagues across the
organization
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to form effective
relationship throughout the organization and communicate complex
analytical models/ financial concepts in a synthesized and concise
manner
