Responsibilities
The Senior Quality Engineering role closely aligns with the experience and skill set of a Senior Systems Engineer. Possessing an understanding of engineering, management, and quality systems. Working with cross functional teams across the life cycle of the program. The Senior Quality Engineer will work to help balance various aspects of a project, most of them complex such as Program Planning, Risk Management, Life Cycle Management, the Voice of the Customer, -Verification and Validation, Test, Sustainment, Retirement--- All while helping a Program to ensure the compliance and integrity of internal and external Requirements. The Senior Quality Engineering will also have expertise in the area of Risk and Opportunity Management. The individual will foster cross functional support to implement process improvements and problem-solving efforts within the team, to focus on protecting and improving overall design and product quality.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Mentor and train other engineers, while seeking to continually improve processes companywide.
  • Provide clear project goals and develop steps to oversee their timely execution.
  • Be proactive about challenges or constraints within a project and seek to manage them accordingly.
  • Assist Programs and Engineering in the understanding -and compliance with the associated specs, requirements, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the team on identifying and managing Risks/Opportunities.
  • Proactively work with the team to minimize and/or eliminate quality/performance issues.
  • Utilizes analytical skill sets to implement root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective action. -
  • Analyzes trends in product/process performance from new product development through service, coordinating any required root cause analysis and corrective action associated with suppliers.
  • Assist in the review and disposition of non-conforming material.

    Qualifications

    • Required Qualifications: -

      • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering degree
      • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering or Quality Engineering in a Product Development environment
      • Proficiency in systems engineering methods
      • Prior specific experience in development of integrated hardware/software systems
      • Strong foundational knowledge of electronics and electronic component technology
      • Ability to work on cross functional teams
      • Ability to lead and mentor small task teams
      • Experience with quality management systems
      • Experience with Risk Management
      • Good interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with the internal team and customer
      • Must possess strong organizational skills
      • Excellent written and oral communication, in English
      • Experience using Risk Radar, 3DX Risk Management, JIRA or other comparable risk tool required
      • Prior specific experience in development of integrated hardware/software systems


        Preferred Qualifications: -


        • Master's Degree in a relevant Engineering degree
        • Experience with model-based engineering (MBE) frameworks/integrated model tools
        • Thorough understanding of FMEA techniques
        • Experience with collaborating and contributing on Multidiscipline Proposal teams
        • Experience working within Research and Development teams with a focus on Quality


          Travel
          Up to 25% travel within the United States

          • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. -
          • Secret Clearance required
