Full-time The OpportunityLesley seeks an innovative and
collaborative Collections Access Librarian who will assess and
maintain library collections in support of learning, teaching, and
research in alignment with university priorities. As part of the
library team, the librarian participates in general library
instruction, research assistance, assessment activities and other
university initiatives as assigned. Essential Functions Research &
InstructionOffers research support to Lesley students, faculty, and
staff both in-person and virtually, through library desk coverage
and virtual chat coverage, as part of a rotating schedule among
librarians.Meet with students one-on-one for research
consultations, during pre-scheduled reference shifts.Visit Lesley
classes, both in-person and virtually, to teach students
information literacy lessons and advanced research
methods.Collaborate with library colleagues to design online
digital resources and services that may include filming and editing
video tutorials, designing and editing engaging research guide web
pages, and participation in the library-wide instructional design
of online learning tools.Attend curriculum committee meetings in
one of Lesley University's 4 schools and work with School
administration to identify the most crucial courses for an embedded
librarian lesson.Outreach & Collection DevelopmentServe as the
liaison to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS),
Lesley's undergraduate liberal arts school, performing outreach and
trainings for faculty and advertising library services and new
resources.Collect, evaluate, and refresh print and digital
resources that support the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
(CLAS) curriculum.Public Services & University ServiceResponsible
for desk coverage and/or virtual reference shifts as part of a
rotating schedule that may include occasional night/weekend
shifts.Participate in library staff meetings and committees, and
represent the library on University committees as assigned.In
addition to the shared librarian responsibilities above, this
position will be uniquely responsible for:--- Planning and
implementing projects related to collection development,
assessment, and weeding, collaborating with or directing the work
of other library staff on such projects. Developing continued,
regular procedures and workflows for collection refreshment and
stack maintenance.--- Assisting Library leadership in developing
policies and procedures related to development of, and access to,
the Library's collections, with emphasis on the print collections,
equitable access, and consistent application of borrowing
privileges and procedure (across libraries and for distance
students).--- Leading overall assessment initiatives related to
collections and borrowing, working closely with the Systems
Librarian on data and reporting needs for assessment. Providing
input on data collection related to collections and borrowing.
Determining which data best reflects Library reporting needs
(annual reports, accreditation documents, etc), interpreting raw
data, and presenting those interpretations to Library
stakeholders.--- Assisting the Budget & Acquisitions Manager with
copy cataloging workload, performing occasional original cataloging

successful will have:MLS from and ALA-accredited institution or
foreign equivalent by start date.Experience providing research and
instruction services in an academic library.Engaging classroom
presence and oral communication skills, evidenced by flexibility to
teach in multiple modalities, leveraging academic technologies, and
successful experience teaching outcomes-based lessons.Proven
ability to initiate and implement projectsCompetency with a variety
of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet and
presentation software, and content management systems such as
LibGuides. Familiarity with Integrated Library Systems such as
Voyager. Experience with specific platforms is less important than
a demonstrated willingness to explore, evaluate and use emerging
technologies.Strong data literacy skills and demonstrated
experience interpreting data.Preferred:Experience designing
surveys, interpreting results, communicating to external
stakeholders, and providing recommendations for service
improvements.Familiarity with different data visualization
platforms and techniques. Experience working with consortia and/or
as a part of a multi-branch library.Strong experience with MLA and
APA citation formats.Experience with original cataloging.
