Volt is immediately hiring for Toolmaker (PM & Repair) in Rumford, Rhode Island

• Direct hire
• Competitive pay plus shift differential. As a Toolmaker you will:
  • Set up and operate CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on existing stamping tools.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is performed according to PM schedule.
  • Provide technical support & guidance to the manufacturing team.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance personnel for the timely completion of repairs.
  • Monitor department for safety and housekeeping, correcting deficiencies
  • Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates.
  • Work with QA on Quality Issues, Corrective Actions, Incident Reports and provide responses to data provided by QA.
  • Accurately document work in the Tool Room Die, Maintenance, & Repair System & the Tool Book.This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have:
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • 2 to 5 years experience functioning as a Toolmaker
    • Technical Trade School or Toolmaker Apprenticeship program experience preferred.
    • Working knowledge of progressive tools.
    • Working knowledge of Bruderer presses used to manufacture tight tolerance parts
    • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
    • Production and Processing knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products.
    • Quality Control Analysis- Conducting tests and inspections of parts to evaluate quality or performance.
    • The ability to read and understand blueprints.
    • The ability to understand and apply GD&T geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Shift available 1st: 6am - 2:30pm2nd 2pm - 10:30pm3rd 10pm - 6:30amSalary: $40-45/hour + Shift differential (2nd shift : 10%; 3rd shift: 15%)*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
